Terms of Service

Who we are and what these terms cover

WPkeeper is a hosted service for looking after WordPress sites: uptime and page monitoring, plugin, theme and core updates, backups, reports, alerts and a branded client portal. These terms are the agreement between WPkeeper ("we", "us") and the person or business that creates an account ("you").

By creating an account or buying a plan you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you accept them for a business, you confirm you are allowed to bind that business.

Your account

You must be at least 18 and give a working email address. Keep your password and API tokens secret; you are responsible for what happens under your account, including the actions of the users and clients you invite.

An account owner decides who has access and what each role may do. Tell us at once if you think someone has used your account without permission.

Plans, payment and cancellation

There is no free plan. You pay per site per month, or for a bundle that covers a number of sites, at the prices shown on the pricing page when you buy. Payments are taken by Stripe, monthly in advance, and renew until cancelled. Prices exclude any taxes that apply.

When you add or remove sites on a per-site plan, Stripe prorates the difference on your next invoice. You can cancel at any time from Settings, Plan; the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid. Paid periods are not refunded, except where the law requires it.

If a payment fails, or a plan ends, your account keeps its data but cannot add sites, and features of the plan stop until you buy a plan again. We give at least 30 days notice by email before a price change applies to an existing subscription.

Acceptable use

Connect only sites you own or are authorised to manage. Do not use WPkeeper to break the law, to store or spread malware, to access systems without permission, to send spam, to load test or attack other services, or to get around the limits of your plan.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules or puts the service or other customers at risk. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

Your data and your sites

You keep all rights to your sites, your backups and everything else you put into WPkeeper. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Your sites may hold personal data of your own visitors and clients. For that data you are the controller and we process it on your behalf: you are responsible for having a lawful basis for it, and we use it only to provide the service.

WPkeeper works on your sites with the access you give it, such as SSH, the WPkeeper plugin or a WordPress login. Updates and restores change your sites; check them, and keep the access you give us as narrow as you can.

Backups and storage

Backups are stored either in the storage included with your plan or in your own S3-compatible bucket. Included storage has the allowance shown in Settings; when it is full, new backups pause until space is freed or the allowance grows. Nothing is deleted to make room.

We work to keep backups complete and restorable, and we verify them, but no backup system is perfect. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

White label and your clients

You may present WPkeeper under your own brand to your clients. You are responsible for your relationship with them, for what you promise them, and for the access you give them. Your clients are bound by these terms when they use the service through your account.

Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep WPkeeper running and secure, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without a guaranteed uptime. We may change or improve features; if we remove a feature you pay for, we tell you in advance.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud.

Ending your account

You can export your data and delete your account at any time from Settings, Account. Deleting it cancels your subscription and removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may end the service for your account with 30 days notice by email, or at once for a serious breach of these terms. When we end it without a breach on your part, we refund any period you paid for but cannot use.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For changes that matter to you, we email account owners at least 30 days before they apply. Using the service after that date means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can cancel and delete your account.
